Applications can take up to ten (10) business days from the time of receipt for the Division to process. New applications are dependent upon receipt of fingerprint background information and may take significantly longer. Allow ten (10) business days and check online for application status prior to contacting the Division. All online application forms can be accessed by selecting “Online Services” from the upper right hand corner of your browser window after logging into your E-license account.

AMC License Online Application
To access the online application form for AMC, create a business account using the above link. Once the account is created, select the link titled “Create/Continue Application for NEW License”, then select “Appraisal Management Company”. Prior to application the controlling appraiser and all individual owners with at least 10% ownership interest in the AMC must submit fingerprints prior to license application submission.
AMC Renewal/Reinstatement Online Application
To access this feature, log into your online account using the above link, then select “Renew/Reinstate Your License”. Renewal is available annually from November 15th through January 31st without penalty. All licenses will be set to an expired status on January 31st. AMCs have 2 years from the date of license expiration to reinstate an expired license.
AMC Preliminary Advisory Opinion
To access the PAO application form, select the link above to access or create your online account. Once logged in, select “Create/Continue Application for NEW License”. Select “Preliminary Advisory Opinion”, then select the “APPR” application type to request the Board issue a preliminary advisory opinion regarding the possible effect of a Controlling Appraiser, or any individual that owns more than 10% of the company, having been convicted of, entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere to a misdemeanor or felony or any like municipal code violation. The Board may issue an opinion which may not be binding and does not limit the Board to investigate a later initial application for licensure.
AMC Change in Controlling Appraiser or Owner Online Application
To change controlling appraisers, select the “Change Controlling Appraiser” link within the Online Services drop down menu from within the AMC account. There is no fee for this application, however if the controlling appraiser is not currently licensed in Colorado the fingerprint requirement would apply.
To update ownership information for owners with a minimum of a 10% ownership interest in the licensed AMC, select the link titled “Update Owners / Contact Persons“. There is no fee for this application, however the fingerprint requirement would apply.
AMC Change of License Information Online Application
An AMC may change its status from active to inactive and vice versa. You can access this application form by selecting the “Transfer / Activate / Inactivate” link from the Online Services drop down menu.
Certified Licensed History Request
To request a certified license history, log into your AMC account, then select “Online Services” from the upper right hand corner of your screen. Under “Documents and Maintenance”, select “Request Certified License History”.

Steps for Renewal & Reinstatement
Appraisal Management Companies (AMCs) must renew their license between November 1st and December 31st every year. If you fail to renew the AMC license within that time frame, you will have a grace period until January 31st of the new year to renew the license.
Should you fail to renew the AMC license after the grace period, you may reinstate the license within two (2) years after the date of expiration; however reinstatement is subject to additional fees.
Renewal & Reinstatement Timeframes
- Renewal period: November 1st through December 31st
- Grace period for Renewal: January 1 through January 31st of new year
- Reinstatement period: Two (2) years from the date of license expiration

Surety Bond Requirement
Surety bonds must be bound to The State of Colorado in the amount of $25,000.
The Division does not suggest or require any specific company to obtain this bond.
A copy of the surety bond must accompany all applications for licensure as an AMC
