Summary:

HB25-1322 creates an obligation for homeowner insurance carriers to provide a policyholder with a certified copy of the policyholder’s insurance policy within 30 days after a written request. Failure to provide a certified copy within 30 days may result in penalties. Beginning on the 31^st day after the insurance carrier’s registered agent receives the policyholder’s request, the insurance carrier is liable for a penalty of $50.00 per day which continues to accrue until the insurance carrier provides a certified copy of the insurance policy. In addition, the insurance carrier may be responsible for reasonable attorney fees and costs.
