Call For Presentations
The HOA Information and Resource Center (the “HOA Center”) is pleased to invite proposals for educational sessions for our monthly HOA Forums.
These monthly forums provide an opportunity for HOA board members, community managers, homeowners residing within HOAs, and industry professionals to come together in a live and moderated format to discuss trends in the HOA industry and the impact of recent legislation on their communities.
The HOA Center is seeking subject-matter experts in their respective fields who can educate forum attendees on topics related to community associations. The HOA Center has previously hosted industry professionals on a variety of different topics, including, but not limited, to:
• A community association attorney to discuss board member fiduciary duties;
• A community association manager to discuss the pros and cons of hiring a professional manager vs. self-managing;
• A wildfire mitigation specialist with the city of Boulder to discuss fire mitigation tactics in HOA communities;
• A planning director with the State of Colorado to discuss Accessory-Dwelling units (“ADUs”); and,
• A community association attorney to discuss HOA liens and foreclosures.
Attendees include board members of HOA communities, homeowners living in HOA communities, community association managers, attorneys, real estate agents, and others.
Suggested topics include:
• Legal and regulatory updates affecting community associations
• Best practices in community association management and leadership
• Risk management, safety, and emergency preparedness
• Financial management, reserve planning, and budgeting
• Sustainability and “going green” initiatives
• Strategies for addressing common maintenance issues
• Solar panels/roofs/EV stations
• Association accounting/election software
• Financial Audits
• Amending governing documents
• Recordkeeping
• Insurance
• Dispute resolution
• Combating community apathy
Submission Details:
Format: Online Zoom webinar only
Duration: Approximately 45–60 minutes (including Q&A)
What to Submit: Session topic and a brief description, and short presenter bio
